I really enjoyed this book, though not quite as much as Monster Hunter International. I liked that the plot was more complex, with some genuinely good twists, but at times it seemed like there was too much going on. I didn’t care for the gnomes or the friendly Shoggoth, and found them kind of stupid and out of place. Owen’s habit of being an angry smart-ass for no reason really started to irritate me, especially in regards to Agent Franks. Despite these flaws, Monster Hunter Vendetta was a fun read, and the epilogue has me really excited to see where the series is going.
